What is Coed Tir George?
What makes Coed Tir George a Community Interest Project?

We decided to set up Coed Tir George as a Community Interest Project because we want the focus of this Social Enterprise to be on the support it provides for bereaved families rather than about making money.
After spending some time at the Sand Rose project in Cornwall shortly after our son George died of cancer in 2009, we realised how important this kind of project was in helping those people who have lost a child to cancer process and come to terms with the loss.
The help and support we received from the Children’s Cancer Charity LATCH via the Sand Rose Project was immeasurable and so we approached them with the idea to set up Coed Tir George on our farm in Upper Brynamman so we can help people in the same way.
We are creating two or three self-contained lodges that will be sited in picturesque, tranquil and healing spaces at Ty’r Cwm Farm. Each lodge will accommodate up to xxx, with (some of the facilities and amentities that will be on offer.
This will be the first step for Coed Tir George. Once we have successfully established the project here on Ty’r Cwm Farm, our ultimate aim is to expand the project and create a network of safe, healing spaces at farm retreats around the country.
If you are interested in helping us get the project of the ground you can head over to our Fundraising page to make a donation or find out how else you can get involved.
If you are interested in setting up your own farm retreat, please contact us to register your interest.
